Molten Poetry

Let it burn.

Right fist raised,
defiant in the face
of tyranny and
the evils of man.

“I will fight you!”

I scream my truth,
but it’s lost in
the battle’s din.

Onlookers admire
my fortitude
and fire,

but,

invisible
to them,
is the corner
that traps me
in this war

where I’m
struggling
just to survive.

©️ Tenpenny, 2019.

“And I’m a goddamn coward,
but then again so are you,
and the lion’s roar,
the lion’s roar.”
