Golden Queen

Resplendent,
you glow…
golden queen
on your throne.

Give your light
and grant your warmth,
long

thought

gone.

Alabaster, oak,
or polished stone,
the shine has shone,
since mother queen
retired to her home.

Golden goddess,
all alone,
hum the dirge,
rattle the bones,
resonate against
the ancient walls.

Sing the song,
into the darkened

resting

hall,

until the workers wake,
sober and stumbling

along.
